About Deschutes Pioneers’ Association

Deschutes Pioneers Association is a non-profit organization.

The objectives of the Deschutes Pioneers’ Association, Inc. shall be to renew and maintain old acquaintances; to gather and preserve pioneer relics, stories and such other materials as are related to pioneer days; to record for future reference historical facts of the Deschutes region. More particularly its objectives shall be:

  • To sponsor and hold meetings, picnics, dinners, field trips, walking tours and other activities that will tend to keep
    the members in closer touch with each other, thus enabling them to more readily communicate their recollections and reminiscences.
  • To discover and to work with and help Deschutes County Historical Society to collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the county and the state.  To aid in the preservation of such material and to make it available for study and reference.  To aid in bringing about the preservation of historical buildings, artifacts, monuments and markings.
  • To help Deschutes County Historical Society disseminate historical information and arouse interest in the past by publishing historical material in the newspapers or otherwise; by holding meetings with addresses, lectures, papers and discussion; by aiding in the marking of historical buildings, sites, trails, etc.
